I have created this blog to challenge myself to try new imaging, whether through my iPhone or my DSLRs. It is my desire to learn more about photography not only through the camera but with post processing which I find to be exciting and adventurous. As I shoot each image, I envision a finished product through the use of my camera tools and software.I hope as you view my posts, you too will enjoy my new ventures on my journey into the digital world of photogaphy. I enjoy using a camera to translate my visualization into reality on paper. Visualization is defined as the ability to see in the "mind's eye" the finished work before actual application. It is the creative process of images transitioning from the realm of the reactive and contemplative to the conscious and deliberate. An element of surreal gives the viewer a different perspective on the subject, removing the literal and getting down to the essence of conveying the energy of the subject. For me, the image begins when the work goes beyond merely representing reality and enters the realm of personal expression. My methods are meant to be intentional, whether in the camera or post processing.

Outline
Another tulip...get ready because I have a lot more!!! Anyway, I started this image off as a high key shot and used Snapseed to further the high key and outline the bloom and its leaves and stem to highlight the tulip's shape.

Window SIll Tulips
Another tulip image...this one I decided to treat a bit differently...added some texture and vintage fading in order to create a "long time ago" mood. As I said before, tulips are my fav flowers and I love the whimsical yet elegant flower that can evoke so many different moods depending on how the image is processed.

Tulip Season
Tulips are my fav flower of the spring. I buy them by the ton and put them in vases all over the house! I love how they drape over a vase in various manners showing their elegance and grace. Happiness is a blooming tulip :)

Cow or Dog?
I love reflections! And when I started to process this, I realized that I was looking at a cow...but wait...a dog???!!! Which is it! Anyway, I liked how the reflection showed a caricature of either of the animals and decided I would post this. Any thoughts? Which one do you see...a cow or a dog?!!!

Bike ride Anyone?!
Biking is a lifestyle on tropical islands and this bike seems to typify the style and colors that one sees on the islands. I went ahead and spiced up the saturation and the glow a bit to enhance the tropical mood. Whenever I see this image, I just have a smile on my face...my carefree days of childhood riding my bike everywhere with my friends. I miss those days...

Sunflower
I'm beginning to explore the "textured" world and thought I would try my first venture on the sunflower. What I've tried to do here is to add texture to the BG without compromising the flower itself. Sometimes I like the look of a texturized flower and sometimes not. In this case, I thought it better to keep the flower intact. Any thoughts? Spring was slowly getting here...the fosythias are in bloom...the grass is green...the rabbits are running around...and the robins are banging on my windows again..!!! Happy Spring :):):)

Peek a Boo
Walking in NYC one afternoon and I came across this door. I love the cat peeking out but I really like his little entry doorway next to the mail slot. I'm wondering if mice get in that way too!!! :):):)
