Keep Your Dream In Drive

I was killing time in an airport a few weeks ago reading a magazine when I came across this ad. I thought it might make an interesting image with the Brooks Brothers shop in the background if the right person came along. I liked the juxtaposition of the janitor driving his cart with the magazine and shop. Always keep your dreams in drive...you never know what might occur.

Red Roof Inn

Mid afternoon bright sun on the church with an approaching storm in the BG really caught my eye as I was driving home yesterday. With the impending storm, I felt the church with its red roof reminded me of a haven from the elements of the weather, a safe place to go, like the Red Roof Inn.

Dilapidated

What is about autumn and run down barns? I just love to shoot the old barns as they begin to rot beyond repair. It's getting harder to find the old wooden barns as the farmers put up the aluminum ones that last longer and are maintenance free. The old barns are just another reminder of years past, of a time gone by and left for memories, of the sunlight beating down on the weathered barn, slowly turning to disrepair.

Hallowed Halls

These hallowed halls ...nothing can touch me, I am safe and warm. If the halls could somehow speak, some would be remembered and some would be forgotten but always, the halls would protect through light and shadow, a well trodden path.

Fireworks

On my walk to get the mail the other day, I spotted the setting sunlight on some pine needles and I thought of fireworks! Sparkling in the evening sky...this was a fun image for me to fool around with. I have some other versions which I might present at a further date but for now, I want to jsut enjoy the fireworks display!

Ducks in a Row

Or I should say "Grain Bins in a Row" :) Early morning drive and loved how the sunlight caressed each grain bin in a row so perfectly. I find that grain bins are not very appealing during most of the day to shoot but when the light hits just right, I have a nostalgic feeling for farms, of yore, of what used to be. Not sure why...just is.

Dark and Light

 I didn't realize that it had been 4 days since my last post. Time flies when you're having fun and I was having fun!!! Early morning rain brought the leaves tumbling down...a few landed on my car windshield. I liked how the leaves were surrounded by light and dark reflections. It fit the mood of the day...dark yet light...coming through as the rain slowly ceased and the clouds began to retreat.
